Southern Highlands, New South Wales
An outstanding year for Cabernet at Cherry Tree Hill. This wine have great body for a cool climate Cabernet balanced with elegant tannins derived from 15 months in French oak.
The difference between the earlier-ripening merlot and this is stark. Global warming is on cab's side here, but not with every vintage. Yet. Blackcurrant, hedgerow, spearmint and garden herb. This has a certain charm, auguring well for siblings of the future. It reminds me of earlier iterations of Domaine A. This particular bottling is a bit green and ropy and yet ... it opens nicely with air. For the faithful. Or those willing to give it a stiff decant and recline. NED GOODWIN MW - AUGUST 3, 2022
